Lifestyle

We Live Here

We live to reward a life of hard work with all that Moss Creek membership has to offer … community, connection, contentment … and to savor a private club and home community lifestyle unlike any other in the Lowcountry. SO CLOSE AND YET SO FAR. We live here. And we love it. But our interests are wide and varied and we like to get out every once in a while and see what’s going on in the world around us. Luckily, because of a perfectly chosen placement by our Moss Creek forefathers, we don’t have to go far. To the left of the majestic Moss Creek entrance gate the beautiful beaches of Hilton Head Island await. To the right there’s burgeoning Bluffton. A short drive to 1-95 opens the possibilities even wider with the city of Savannah to the south and historic Charleston to the north. Beyond that, the sky’s the limit.

It’s wonderful to be so close … and yet so far. We have the time of our lives here. And so can you.

  • Golf
    • No matter which of our championship, Fazio-designed courses you choose to play on any given day – Devil’s Elbow South or Devil’s Elbow North – you’ll soon discover that it’s the details, and the immaculate and immediate attention our professional crews pay to each and every one of them, that combine to create an unparalleled Lowcountry private golf lifestyle experience. Perfected practice facilities, a professionally staffed and fully-equipped Golf Shop, and member tournament events are a matter of course when you live and play in Moss Creek.
  • Racquets
    • The Moss Creek tennis and pickleball community is ALIVE. We truly love tennis and pickleball here. We love everything about our Moss Creek Racquet Center, including our seven Har-Tru tennis courts (five of which are lighted) and our four pickleball courts. We love playing in leagues both inside and outside the club gates. We love meeting for group drills and professional private instruction in the morning. We love meeting on the patio for cocktails at the end of a day of match play. We love the competition. We love the on and off court camaraderie. It’s really no contest: Moss Creek and tennis, or pickleball, make a perfect match.

  • Clubhouse
    • The Heart of it All

The centerpiece and the heart of the Moss Creek lifestyle is the Clubhouse. Although we love to plan and execute perfectly exquisite weddings, banquets, birthday parties and other member events, our Clubhouse is not just for special occasions. We really live here. We meet here. We eat here. We play here. Sometimes we dress up and go in style, dining formally with family and friends, and sometimes we kick back and go casual, meeting for lunch in the Grill after a round of golf or a game of tennis, or for cocktails and cards outside on the Verandah. The Clubhouse is a special place, at the center, the heart of it all.

  • Marina/Bostwick Point Park

    • Life On The Water
With one of the few private mainland marinas in the area, life on the water takes on a whole new meaning at Moss Creek, offering our Members unprecedented access to this prime corner lot of coastline. With boat slips and storage, private and club kayak racks, 5 fishing docks and 2 crabbing docks, the Moss Creek private marina is the launching point for a day of water fun, fishing, and exploration in and around our 11 sea islands, out into the Intracoastal, and beyond.

      Bostwick Pavilion and Park
Overlooking Mackay’s Creek and the marina, Bostwick Pavilion is a beautiful venue for cookouts, outdoor weddings, and picnics. Pavilion amenities include a fire pit and a children's playground. Nearby, a grassed, naturally enclosed half-acre dog park is surrounded by a large open park. The park area has two bocce ball courts and two horseshoe pits.

      Pool and Fitness Complex
The Bostwick Point Pool and Fitness Complex consists of a beautiful indoor and outdoor space designed to help our members stay healthy and happy. Located right on the water, with lovely views of the marsh and the marina, the swimming options at Bostwick Point include a lap pool, a beach entry swimming pool, and a kiddie pool, all heated and cooled for year-round accessibility. The Fitness Center is equipped with cardio and weight equipment to assist the membership with their fitness needs.

  • Nature Preserves
    • The Good Life Comes Naturally
At Moss Creek we live to let the natural, untamed beauty of the coastal Lowcountry have its way with us, and it never disappoints. There are no straight lines … no short cuts … no pre-determined path to take. Each day is an opportunity to discover something breathtakingly beautiful. The gently winding roads follow the natural curves of the coastline. Wooded paths and marsh boardwalks round natural bends, providing hikers and bikers stunning vistas of our pristine and private Fording Island Nature Preserve and Blue Heron Sanctuary. Just one glance and it’s easy to see that, at Moss Creek, the good life comes naturally.

      FORDING ISLAND NATURE PRESERVE

Located near the center of Moss Creek, this island is accessible by two raised boardwalk bridges overlooking the marsh and a tidal creek, complete with oyster beds. Its eleven acres are home to a maritime forest supporting various trees, shrubs, and other plants, which in turn provide wonderful habitat for our wildlife. In addition to the main bike path connecting the two boardwalks, there are a number of walking trails leading to two observation decks to help observe and enjoy our surroundings.

      BLUE HERON SANCTUARY

Located at the north end of Moss Creek, Blue Heron Sanctuary is comprised of several small islands with a raised walking trail and boardwalk cutting through it. This 36-acre sanctuary, is fed by a mixture of fresh and brackish water, and is home for many wading birds, ducks, fish and alligators. There is also a wide variety of plants here, especially native perennials that show themselves throughout the season. A woodland trail on the far north side completes the picture.

  • Moss Creek Charitable Fund
    • Started in March, 2018 by Moss Creek volunteers, the mission of the Moss Creek Charitable Fund is to encourage charitable giving by Moss Creek residents and to provide grants to local charitable organizations in the Lowcountry, helping those with the greatest needs, consistent with the caring spirit of the Moss Creek community. The Fund is administered by a volunteer committee of residents with administrative support from the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry.

Since its inception, Moss Creek residents and sponsors have contributed $325,583 to the Charitable Fund, with the Fund awarding $179,233 in grants to date. This generosity has allowed the MCCF to build its endowment fund to just over $100,000; an investment which will eventually yield a stream of income to provide even more charitable support in the future.

The Charitable Fund consists of a Giving Fund and an Endowment Fund. The Giving Fund distributes funds each year to local charities decided on by the board from grant requests. The Endowment Fund collects funds for long term investments to create a sustaining endowment.

Donations are gratefully accepted on-line via the link below or by mail to Moss Creek Charitable Fund, c/o Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, P.O. Box 23019, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 29925.
